Grand Rutherglen Muscat
Wine
Pfeiffer Grand Rutherglen Muscat is made with fruit harvested late in the season when its sugar levels are high and some of the grapes have begun to raisin on the vine.
The grapes are crushed into static fermenters and cold macerated for three days. Fermentation is only just allowed to begin before the juice is pressed into stainless steel tanks and fortified with a neutral grape spirit.
The resulting sweet wine is clarified then transferred into barrels and casks of different volumes to age. This maturation process concentrates the wines and produces the rich, complex flavours for which Rutherglen Muscats are known.
The youngest components of this wine age for just three years; the oldest age for as many as 30. The wine is blended to an average age of 23 years prior to bottling.
Dark brown with olive hues, Pfeiffer Grand Rutherglen Muscat shows great depth with intense fruit flavours, aged characters and length. It is fully matured and ready to drink.
